A Central Line Infection is No Joke
We found out my husband had cancer late last year. At first we were at a loss about what to do. After a lot of research and praying about what we should do, he decided to undergo chemotherapy treatment. The chemotherapy had to be administered through something called a central line, which was basically an IV into his neck. It wasn’t uncomfortable for him, he insisted, but I hated seeing my husband like that. The treatment was going well, but he suddenly seemed to get worse. His doctor found he had a central line infection. Thankfully they found it quickly and were able to give him the proper treatment immediately. Later I learned that many people die each year from this type of infection. His cancer is in remission, but my husband has already decided that even with the risks he would take chemotherapy treatments again if the cancer were to return.
